Summer is here (has been here for a while for us in Miami…) and it is time to make some refreshing summer drinks. Today: watermelon limeade!
I had a watermelon with a funky texture that otherwise was nice and sweet, so I decided to blend it and make some limeade with it. Making juices or fruit-flavored water(s) (or agua fresca as they call them in Mexico) is a great way to use those fruits which texture may not be the best one, but that are still tasty and usable.
With the help of my little chefs and husband, we did a couple of versions of the watermelon limeade changing the quantities of limeade and watermelon juice, and voted for the best one. The winner is the one I’m bringing here today. Both my kids and I voted for the one with more lime tasty version, whereas my husband liked better the one with more watermelon juice in it. At the end of the day it is a matter of taste what counts, there is no right or wrong, that is the beauty of cooking. Even though this is a recipe with precise quantities, I encourage you to play with the ingredients and its proportions and make the limeade you like the best. It’s easy, delicious and fun!
A very refreshing and tasty watermelon limeade for the hot summer days. Easy and fun to make!
